This guide explains how to sign in to your OANDA trading account, recover access if you forget credentials, troubleshoot common login problems, and secure your account with best practices (including two-factor authentication). Use the official OANDA website or mobile app for all account actions: oanda.com.

How to sign in (step-by-step)

  1. Open the OANDA website or mobile app.
  2. Click Sign In (top-right) or tap the login icon in-app.
  3. Enter your registered email address and password.
  4. If prompted, complete two-factor authentication (2FA) using your authenticator app or SMS code.
  5. On successful authentication, you will be taken to the trading dashboard.

Tip: If you use multiple OANDA accounts (demo and live), make sure you select the correct environment before logging in.

Password reset & account recovery

If you cannot sign in, use the Forgot password link on the login page. Enter the email associated with your account; OANDA will send a reset link. Follow the link and choose a strong, unique password.

If you don’t receive a reset email, check spam/junk folders and any email filters. If still unresolved, contact OANDA support and be ready to verify your identity (account number, date of birth, recent transaction details).

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Enabling 2FA significantly improves security. OANDA supports authenticator apps (e.g., Google Authenticator) and sometimes SMS for secondary verification. To enable 2FA, go to Account Settings > Security and follow the on-screen steps.

Important: Save or print recovery codes provided when you enable 2FA. These codes let you regain access if you lose your phone.

  • Incorrect password: Use the "Forgot password" workflow.
  • Verification code not received: Check network coverage (SMS) or ensure your authenticator app clock is synced.

  • App problems: Update to the latest app version or reinstall the app.

  • Use a unique, long password (passphrase) and a reputable password manager.
  • Enable 2FA and store recovery codes safely offline.
  • Never share your OANDA credentials or verification codes.
  • Beware of phishing — verify email sender addresses and never follow suspicious links asking for login info.
